Samsung is finally offering a 128GB edition of its Galaxy Note 5, though you'll have to shop in South Korea to grab one.
On Friday, Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 5 Winter Edition with 128 gigabytes of onboard storage. Priced at 999,900 Korean won (around $843), the new Note 5 will be sold through South Korean carriers SK Telecom and KT Corp and will be available in either Gold Platinum or Silver Titanium.
Samsung's probable aim with the new version of its phone is to woo buyers who were disappointed with the standard Note 5, which is limited to 64 gigabytes and lacks the option to add more storage via an SD card. The new Note 5 with its 5.7-inch display and stylus could offer more competition to Apple's iPhone 6S Plus, which already comes in a 128GB version and features a 5.5-inch display. However, the Winter Edition would have to reach consumers beyond South Korea to provide much of a boost to Samsung's sluggish sales.
Expanding the amount of onboard storage is important as mobile apps multiply and more people house hundreds and sometimes thousands of photos and videos on their phones. Storing items in the cloud is always an option, but you need a Wi-Fi connection to access them or must rely on cellular access, which then eats into the available data on your mobile plan.
Samsung didn't reveal if or when the new Note 5 might wend its way to other countries. The company didn't immediately respond to CNET's request for comment.
In the meantime, Samsung is pushing other deals for South Korean customers. Galaxy Note 5 buyers will receive a free wireless charger, while those who pick up a Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge+ will get a Samsung Gear VR headset at no cost.

韩版用三星自己的芯片。
note5用的都是猎户座芯片 能不能把内存芯片换上变成128
