Hi VTF-INO,
I am surprised that this crowdfunding project could have reached someone overseas. It was super cool. I am not the admin, but a common forum member like you. Did you say that you currently live in Japan and you have installed the Alipay App on your phone? If so, the only issue is to put money into Alipay.
To do that, you will have to use a Chinese debit card (not sure if an international one would work or not. You may try). In Alipay App, you can bind your debit card (credentials are needed, such as your phone number and ID card), and then withdraw money from the card and put it into the virtual wallet of Alipay App (Cash Recharging). Then you know what to do.
I have an American friend Marc, who is able to do this from the United States, but he uses Wechat Wallet. He is able to recharge money into his WeChat App. I will ask him what he did and perhaps that would give you a clue.
As for the language barrier issue, I believe Alipay App has an international version. You may uninstall the Chinese one, and install the all-English app either from Apple's Appstore (if you use an iphone) or many other App Download Portals (if you use an Android phone).
Congratulations again for making it to this wonderful crowdfunding platform. The 4th Generation of the X210 Mod Motherboard is wonderful. I cannot wait to try it out.

My friend Marc just wechatted me from the United States. Here is what he has to say:
1. He did use a Chinese debit card , and charge money from that card into his Wechat account.
2. Therefore, it is just like what we Chinese people would do. There are no alternatives.
Solution: You have to have a bank account at any Mainland Chinese bank. Make sure you activate the online banking service at the counter when you get the debit card. They will ask you for a mobile phone number (also it has to be a Chinese number). You are then all set!
You can feel free to recharge money anywhere on earth from that Chinese debit card as long as you are connected.
But, it just dawned on me that you could make it a thousand times easier:
Ask your friend in China to help you. I guess they should be able to wire money directly from Alipay to your account, so that you wouldn't have to hassle so much. You can figure out how to get the money back to him/her, like mailing him/her the latest model of Sony PS4？？{:1_236:}
