新浪科技讯 北京时间2月14日消息，据国外媒体报道，尽管戴尔已经召回了数百万块存在过热起火隐患的笔记本电池，但一台戴尔笔记本仍然成为上周一场火灾的罪魁祸首。这场火灾发生在美国缅因州比德福特市花岗岩大街117号，大火烧毁了一栋房屋。种种迹象表明，一台放在客厅沙发上充电的戴尔笔记本是导致火灾的直接原因。
缅因州火灾调查官克里斯托弗·斯坦福(Christopher Stanford)表示，火灾发生在早上8：30左右，当时房子的主人已经上班，家里没有任何人。主人上班前使用了一台戴尔Inspiron 1200笔记本，并在临走时插上电源为其充电。他说：“显而易见，这台笔记本的电源线或是电源部件出现了问题，因为房间中笔记本和电源线所在位置烧毁情况最为严重。这是我们发现的惟一可能导致起火的原因。”调查人员已经排除了其它潜在的起火原因或是人为纵火的可能。
斯坦福通过调查发现，房间中的沙发已经被完全烧坏，而笔记本仍然放在原来的位置，但已经面目全非。这是一栋已有130年历史的独立住宅，预计火灾造成的损失超过了10万美元。自去年夏天以来，这已经是当地第二起由笔记本引起的火灾。在上一次火灾中，一部康柏笔记本突然起火，并烧毁了另一栋房子。到目前为止，戴尔还没有就此发表评论。
