【原创】另类降频，Pentium M 降到 150mhz速度。

RightMark CPU Clock Utility 确实是好东西。除了可以降电压外，它还可以限制住CPU速度（Throttle cpu)，以此产生类似的降频目的。以我的PM 1.6 为例，正常降频到最低的600mhz后，在RightMark CPU Clock Utility 第三页的On-Demand Clock Modulation里，选择 12.5%, cpu 就被限制在12.5%的能力， 第一页的Throttled Clock 显示出150mhz。 剩余的88.5%将进入“ 强迫空闲”（forcedly idle）状态。 虽然mometer仍然测出真实的速度是600mhz，但我们实际可用的cpu速度只有150mhz。用XP真是够慢的，好玩。  对于降频能力不强的cpu，如赛扬，p4, 或许可以用这个方法达到类似的降频降温目的。

这是第二页，在CPU Clock里， 598指真实的降频速度，第二个150指实际可用的速度（throuttled cpu).  把它叫二级降频听起来比较形像

3楼的那个画面中好像可以改倍频，不知道楼主试过没有？改倍频的如果能成，效果要比用throttle降频好，因为外频不变。

是的，只降频，但是电池用时间还是老样子，意义就不大了

大家看来关心的是省电问题， 看看软件作者是怎么回答这个问题的吧：

It depends . To be exact, it depends on the CPU power-saving capabilities: whether the "forced" inactive state is in any way more beneficial than the "normal" halt state.

Let's consider two scenarios (assuming that the CPU load is 25%):
1. ODCM is off. The CPU spends 25% of its ticks in the "hot" state, and the 75% left in the idle state. The dissipated power can be calculated as follows:

P(total) = 0.25*P(active) + 0.75*P(idle)

2. ODCM is set at 50% level. The CPU still spends 25% in the "hot" state, 50% in the "forcedly halt state", and the remaining 25% in the idle state. The power consumption is:

P(total) = 0.25*P(active) + 0.25*P(idle) + 0.50*P(forced_halt)
