Disclaimer : Do this at your own risk. Drivers referenced are similar but not correct for TC1100...
What I did (my Tablet is running XP SP3, latest DirectX):
0. Make sure you have the proper driver file from HP downloaded to switch back...
1. My TC1100 uses a GeForce 420 GO chipset. Can't get from NVidia nor HP.
2. Downloaded NVidia GeForce 420 MX driver (Forceware 90 v93.71) here http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71_2.html
3. Run driver package to unzip it into C:\Nvidia, it will stop, stating no compatible video card
4. Go into your Device Manager (right click My Computer > properties), drill into your Display Adapter, go to DRIVER tab and click UPDATE DRIVER.
5. NO to search Windows Update, select Install From Specific Location, change to DONT SEARCH, I WILL CHOOSE...
6. Select HAVE DISK and pick the location the 420 MX driver unpacked to (C:\Nvidia\Win2KXP\93.71) and select the nv4_disp.inf file...
7. Click thru the warning about this driver is not for your hardware...
8. Reboot when done...
Using the 420 MX driver I have noticed that I can no longer change orientation (Portrait/Landscape) on the tablet. Have not used the Tablet for anything but CPD so not sure if anything else stopped working. Plan on switching back to normal drivers when done with CPD anyway...
At least I was able to with a previous version of the nvidia drivers. SockFullofPennies shared a tip with me:
If you edit the nv4_disp.inf file before installation, you can fix the rotation issue. Search the file for RotationFlag. The default registry value is getting set to "4" in the 77.77 version of the driver that I hacked. But by changing the value to "0x40" (yes that is hex), and then installing, you get your rotation back. |
